Dreams of Birds drum
Dreams of Birds

Sitting with drum I clear my head. Two large buzzards circle and watch. I smudge drum and myself again. Ask drum to speak to me, to give me its name. Owl stone is in front of me. A quick pace is played on the drum and I listen to its voice. It has a unique sound. There is a deep resonance but a rattle or buzz that underlies the deeper booming. I know the rattling is because of the overlapping rawhide straps on the back side of the drum. The drumming continues and I close my eyes and fall into Kriya breathing. Owls are in the trees, only white eyes on black silhouettes, four or five of them circle around up high. They are not threatening. Drum talks to me. He is a Healer. His name is Drams of Birds. I believe his soul is of an ancestor. Drumming ends. Eyes open and there are several blackbirds in the trees around me, chattering and crying at each other. I believe they have come to meet Dreams of Birds. Will drum more later.
