Nate is a talented artist, and his writings and drawings reflect his spiritual walk [Made Prayer]

Made Prayer is about honoring each person’s connection with what is being created and how we then discover the beauty in our creation. As the beauty is recognized, we then can understand this concept, and we begin to see our own work from this “Made Prayer” perspective.

I really liked this book because I believe helpers are everywhere. Everyone is a helper. I think I’m a helper because I help others by giving and being nice. My favorite part of the book is Sister Cedar helping the girl. She uses her branches to cover the girl which is super nice and I love Cedar trees.

Weston – age 5

Weston (5 years) says “they’re really good books and I love that my big brother, Teague, reads them and explains things to me. I really enjoyed the drawings in We Are All Related. ”    Weston also felt inspired by the drawings and afterwards he sat down to draw.

A thoughtful ceremonialist and leader

I have known Nate Long for many years and have attended several of his special events and projects. He is a thoughtful ceremonialist, as well as a careful and conscientious leader. I strongly support Nate and recommend attending his programs.

Heart-touching books for young and old alike

This beautiful book tugs on the heartstrings, because we have all felt lost and alone. It may have been written as a children’s book; but I watch tears stream down the face of an adult as she read it. The illustrations are beautiful and reach right into your soul. The words and pictures captured and held the attention of my 4 year old grandson, who still has trouble sitting still and listening.

Nate’s heart is big and wide…

Nate’s heart is big and wide, generous and enthusiastic! His love of Shamanism is contagious, as he calls many to join him in various Circles. He shares it beautifully with his drum and drum making, his frequent Journeys and his flute. His singing of Native American chants sends one straight to one’s core – Divine. Creating a Labyrinth is another way that he gathers people and honors Mother Earth delightfully. Nate’s commitment to this Path seems unwavering, and is inspiring for those who gather with him. Thank you Nate!

Helpers is a beautiful story for us all

Helpers by Nate Long “Owl” is a story that reaches beyond our humanity to the smallest grain of sand, or the tiniest drop of water, or an inkling of a new green leaf. We all want and need help sometimes. This book, in it’s beautifully simple storyline and stunning illustrations, offers hope and love in times of need, in times of fear, in times of doubt, helplessness, longing, lonliness, challenge.
This book teaches us to ask for help, for in this vast community and cosmos there are Helpers. Thank You!

This is a sacred universe

which contains a sacred Earth, upon which resides sacred plants and animals, sacred thought and prayer, sacred hope and caring. For everything is truly sacred and contains a Spirit that deserves respect and devotion. We, as Human, must find this vision of everything again… for where we have forgotten how to see the magic, everything else within this universe has not.

Nate Long "Owl"

masterfully created with positive intention, Divine love, and wisdom

You can see and feel spirit within, and also radiating out from, Nate “Owl” Long’s art work with Blue Eye Art. It is apparent that his art and Shamanic tools are masterfully created with positive intention, Divine love, and wisdom.

an intuitive artistic expression of connection [Made Prayer]

[Nate] blends in a meaningful and accessible way, an intuitive artistic expression of connection to that which is greater than us and that which is imminently practical. In the process, he offers the opportunity to make any heartfelt desire into a physical expression of love and hope. In the process, he also offers a pathway to connect with our most ancient roots.

And she liked it

Helpers is a book for all ages. When I read it to my 5 year old granddaughter, she commented that the author was so creative to have a cave and tree talking. And she liked it. It opened up an opportunity for us to talk about what a helper is, and how they come in many forms.

I am in awe of his heart and his work

As I witness Owl’s journey, I am in awe of his heart and his work. Nate’s creations are magical, raw, honest and reflect the poetry of an artist soul. His works exemplify the journey of a Shaman and are clearly inspired by spirit.

Words are not sufficient

Wow.  What a beautiful and soulful process.  Words are hardly sufficient to describe how impressed I am with the Drum that Nate created for me.  Neither the drum itself nor the process of its creation was what I expected, and both are perfect. It is obvious that Nate is a deeply talented artist and craftsman, and his talent is a beautiful complement to the inspired and sacred intent with which he creates.

deep truth and authenticity shine forth from this book, this process, and sacred work [Made Prayer]

Made Prayer is beautiful in the truest meaning of the word – that a deep truth and authenticity shine forth from this book, this process, and sacred work. Nate’s dedication to his path, his
integrity, and obvious deep compassion radiates throughout this work. The Made Prayer practice he has developed provides a wonderful approach to sacred work, one that will hopefully
encourage and help others to find their way to developing their own relationship with this beauty-filled and sacred practice.

a product of Nate’s service to individuals, groups, nature and the planet [Made Prayer]

This process is presented as a comprehensive approach based on significant personal experience and, may I say, service to individuals, groups, nature, and the planet. Nate illustrates and instructs, guiding the reader on a very deep process of artistic spiritual creation.

Made Prayer is a journey of the heart toward a more prayerful and meaningful life!

Nate invites you to explore the anatomy of prayer and how it may show up in a very purposeful and effective way in a person’s life! There are so many practical, but powerful suggestions in this work to aid even those who haven’t had much of a spiritual foundation.

I really loved reading this book [Made Prayer]

You have expressed in such beautiful language the process of spiritual art. I have worked through these steps in my own art but had never thought to describe the process in this way. You have defined through your words the depth of feeling that goes into all that I have created and continue to create.

Thank you for writing books about beautiful wisdom

Thank you for writing books about beautiful wisdom that is mostly lacking from children’s books these days. Your books allow for great talking/thinking points with kids. The drawings are beautiful and capture the kids’ attention.

Wonderful addition to anyone’s bedtime reading library

This sweet little book is a wonderful addition to anyone’s bedtime reading library. It is especially relevant to children today, who are not as familiar or friendly with nature as we once were. It is a wonderful introduction to archetypes, and the kind of guidance from nature that we all can benefit from. I highly recommend it.

Teague – age 10

I like this book cause Nate’s books are awesome. My favorite part is when the boy is in the water by himself and the girl glows behind him and he truly realizes what it means to all be related. All living and non-living things depend on each other. It helps us to learn to not be scared of things we don’t understand, like a scary snake or large animal.

Speaks deeply and directly to the soul…

Nate’s work speaks both deeply and directly to the soul, whether it be his sacred artwork or his beautifully crafted sacred objects that are prayers made manifest. Nate is a radiant and beautiful soul who is clearly moved deeply by the world around him and whose work building and supporting communities is very much needed in the world at this time.
