Here is a blessing for a new light coming to this world
Casting the longest shadows
With mouths open wide in a year-ending yawn.
Here comes the wool and the flannel
That beckons for rest
Within a chilly world where Mother Bear in her slumber
Weaves dreams into the material.
Here is a prayer that our harvests are plentiful
To get us all through this cold transition
Until the green shoots pop through the snows again.
Here we lay our heads down
And tell stories
And make love
And gather our strength for a new journey to come.
This is my journey
