My grandmother looks up slowly from her work with a large smile and invites me closer. It is so good to be with her again.
She sits on the ground and is sewing a blanket — darning the tears that have appeared between each of the colors.
“Will be good as new!” she says with an excited chuckle. “Please wear it? That’s what it’s for … and bring it back when it needs mending again?”
This is my journey
