It is humbling to look back on the prayers I have made, only to see where I may have failed to take direct action and help Spirit fulfill these prayers. In these moments there are feelings of failure and guilt and of not being enough of service to what Spirit requires. I recognize this as a method by individuals and organized belief systems (and even from my own internal critic) to compel me into action, even to the point of instilling the fear of disappointing the leaders or the community (or myself).
Then I looked again. I am confronted with beautiful gratitude. Because my prayers have given inspiration for others to act, and that the prayers truly have been answered. And that it is time to make yet another prayer, this time a prayer of thanksgiving.
This is my Journey
