Labyrinth Workshop Part 1: Raising the Labyrinth

Raising a Labyrinth: A Hands-on Workshop

Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

With Nate Long “Owl” at Lotus Bend Sanctuary (Google Map)

**NOTE: This is a two part event: Part 1 is the Workshop; Part 2 is the Celebration Sunday, on April 22 to Initiate the NEW LABYRINTH!

The Labyrinth has been used as a spiritual tool for thousands of years by cultures all over the world. From Native American spirals and medicine wheels, to Minoan coins, stone-age cave drawings in France and elaborate Catholic mosaics in medieval cathedrals. And today there is a resurgence in the use of labyrinths to focus upon the healing journey we all face.

Sunday, April 15th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Discuss the Four Stages of Labyrinth Raising (Walk, Build, Care and Carry), then caravan to a local Labyrinth in the Austin area to walk and meditate, then finally to sit and plan out the physical building of a labyrinth.

Workshop participants will learn about how to raise a labyrinth and become the caretaker of their own personal or community labyrinth. You will also be expected to help direct our “builders” (community) who will join us for the construction phase. Bring money for lunch (we will be eating as a group during our labyrinth-walking field trip).
