Wolf is at the door that I step through.
On one side, my human mind filters the world;
on the other, Wolf waits as both guide and mindset.
Wolf moves ahead of me,
tracking what I’ve misplaced:
desire, clarity, the quiet thing I’m seeking.
Where I hesitate, Wolf moves cleanly,
following the single true scent
without the burden of my filters.
Sometimes Wolf returns with symbols
clenched in his jaws;
sometimes he hunts by stillness and stalking,
letting the world reveal its own tracks.
And as I stand on this threshold:
I remember that the door is always open,
and I can meet the world as the Wolf,
or let Wolf meet the world for me.
This is my journey,
Nate Long “Owl”
